Where data meets humanity
Jody is an educator, strategist, researcher and systems thinker. Her career is rooted in classrooms and shaped by decades of work across nonprofits, global education networks, philanthropic institutions, schools, districts, states, ministries and research centers.
She partners with education organizations, governments, foundations and mission-driven organizations on strategy, the ethical implementation of emerging technologies and research-informed design. She is known for translating complex ideas into frameworks people can act on, always centered on inclusion and practical change.
Experience
Jody previously served as Head of Research and Innovation at a global education nonprofit, where she developed partnerships and programming that supported more than 1,500 education-focused nonprofits in over 100 countries. She led the growth of its global Community of Practice, oversaw innovation pilots in digital literacy and AI for education, and designed impact accelerator programs that now reach more than 47 million learners.
She played a leadership role in the launch of the AI-for-Education.org initiative, supporting ethical and inclusive AI adoption in global education through partnership development, community engagement, benchmark promotion and thought leadership.
For more than a decade Jody led initiatives at the Metiri Group, shaping digital learning strategy, research evaluation and edtech capacity building for education systems nationally and internationally. She has supported Digital Promise, ISTE, New America and others through research fellowships, advisory roles and collaborative projects on AI, digital learning, Universal Design for Learning and teacher education. As a chief architect of the Future Ready Schools framework and assessment system, she helped build a resource used by more than 3,500 U.S. schools and districts.
Jody began her career as a K-12 classroom teacher and remains committed to bringing practitioner voices into every policy, program and technology solution she works on.
Education
Jody holds a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction and a master’s degree in Teaching and Leadership from the University of Kansas, along with undergraduate degrees in Elementary and Special Education.
